Located at Atlantic’s city Boardwalk, Trump Taj Mahal was inaugurated in 1990 and had an estimated cost of one billion dollars. Owned by billionaire Donald Trump, the Taj Mahal has recently invested in over $500 million in renovations. More than just a resort, the Taj Mahal has a big casino, great restaurants, several boutiques, its own night club, entertainment theaters with celebrities like Tom Jones and many more first-class amenities. Also, the Taj Mahal has reconstructed the famous Steel Pier after it had burnt down in 1982; once again this amusement park is open for the whole family.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City (formerly Trump Taj Mahal) is a casino and hotel on the Boardwalk, owned by Hard Rock International, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States. The casino, originally known as the Trump Taj Mahal, was inaugurated by its then-owner Donald Trump in 1990, and was built at a total cost of nearly US$1 billion. Original restaurants at the Taj. THE ROOMS

Trump Taj Mahal has over 1,200 rooms. Their 980 standard hotel rooms are comfortable but not very spacious. The three different kinds of suites they provide are finely decorated and have better views of the city and the ocean. The more expensive suites have recently been refurbished and feature multiple living spaces, your own Jacuzzi and a hall bathroom. If your budget is flexible I recommend anything above the Contemporary Room with ocean view.

EATING OUT AT THE TAJ MAHAL

The Taj Mahal has two types of restaurants. It has a five-star selection of restaurants which include:

Dynasty – with a variety of spicy Asian dishes

Mark Anthony’s – traditional Italian kitchen with original presentations

Safari’s Steakhouse – has constantly received positive reviews for their prime steaks

The other restaurants are more casual, such as:

Hard Rock Café – world-famous restaurant with nice view of the Boardwalk

Sultan’s Feast – an enormous buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner

Spice Road – a collection of eateries serving from burgers to seafood

BUSINESS AND RELAXATION

Taj Mahal has been able to combine these two opposite activities. The resort offers business packages for company meetings. With 155,000 sq/ft of meeting space, complimentary equipment like projectors, visual and audio resources and much more. Once the business is over you can relax and enjoy your package’s discounts for shows, restaurants and stores. Other amenities include fitness and massage centers.

THE CASINO AT TAJ MAHAL

The casino has a modern interior and stylish design. There are over 200 table games; their most popular are Blackjack, Roulette and Craps tables. There are constant sweepstakes and prizes for players on the casino floor. If you are a high-roller type the Gaming Salon allows you to risk more in over 20 tables of Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps and Roulette. The service here is more exclusive which includes fancy cocktails, prime appetizers and an elegant environment for your high wagers. The Taj Mahal Casino was voted as Best Casino by Casino Player Magazine readers.

Their smoke-free Poker room has 70 tables and provides ongoing live poker matches in Texas Hold’em, 7 Card Stud and Omaha variations. If you don’t know how to play poker they will teach you there for free. There are daily poker tournaments since March 2008. Once a year they host the United States Poker Championship.

Trump Taj Mahal online

Much like Trump Plaza, the Trump Taj Mahal was among the first Atlantic City casinos to obtain an online gambling license and was initially immensely successful, securing a nearly 10% market share.

However, as the time passed the traffic decreased. February 2014 was a particularly bad month, as the revenue dropped to about $587,000 – a massive 46% decrease when compared with January. As a result, the Trump Taj Mahal was unable to challenge Borgata’s domination and ended up earning as much money as one of Caesars Entertainment’s online projects for the same market.

Trump Taj Mahal casino software

The online version of Trump Taj Mahal was available at uCasino.com and is powered by Ultimate Gaming, a subsidiary of Station Casinos that made history as the first company to offer legal online poker in the United States.

Created by specialists with over 30 years of experience under their belt, the Trump Taj Mahal Ultimate Casino gave players access to cutting-edge slots, video poker games and table games, as well as Ultimate Gaming’s unique brand of online poker.

Unfortunately, the number of titles ended up being rather rather limited, particularly when it comes to slots. On the bright side, the Ultimate Casino table games section was well developed and included all the popular casino classics like blackjack, roulette or three card poker, as well as modern titles like Let It Ride, Raise It Up or Fortune Pai Gow Poker.

Trump Taj Mahal land-based casino in Atlantic City

The Trump Taj Mahal was opened in April 1990 and is one of the two Atlantic City casino hotels owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts.

Trump Taj Mahal History

Often referred to as Taj or Tramp Taj by the locals, the casino sports a unique Indian theme and is the second-largest resort of this kind in the entire New Jersey area. The casino cost about one billion dollars to build and boasts over 167,000 square feet of gaming space. The Trump Taj Mahal remained the most popular and highest grossing casino in Atlantic City until 2003, when the Borgata became available to the general public.

The resort underwent major renovation in 2008, when the Chairman Tower was opened to new customers, bringing the total number of rooms up to 2,248. The poker room and the casino floor of Tramp Taj were featured in a cult 1998 poker movie “Rounders,” which made it even more popular among the American Texas Hold’em enthusiasts at the time.

The modern history of the Taj appears to have drawn to an end with the announcement in August 2016 that the property was set to close.
